Mathieu Baert obtained three master’s degrees: Criminology (2013), Law (2015) and Business Economics (2017). In June 2020, he was appointed as an academic officer in crime & sport at Ghent University. Legal 500 named him a “Rising Star” in 2021, describing him as “extremely professional and knowledgeable” in sports-related crime and compliance. He sits on the disciplinary council of the Flemish Judo Federation and brings personal sports experience as a former judoka and cyclist.
Anton Bloemen

Anton graduated as a master in law from KU Leuven in 2018 with a thesis on training compensation in football. During his studies, he majored in economic law and minored in criminal law. He also spent a semester in Fribourg, Switzerland, as part of the Erasmus programme. After obtaining a master’s degree in company law, also from KU Leuven, he further specialized in sports law in 2020 by following the LLM International Sports Law in Practice at Sheffield Hallam University. Anton has been active as a lawyer since January 2022. In May 2026 he joined Everest’s Sports Law department. In his spare time, Anton is mainly involved in cycling. He sits on the board of a Leuven cycling team and regularly participates in races, gran fondos and gravel races. Anton is also active in Leuven club life, in particular as a swimming instructor at Sporty vzw. He also plays in various indoor football teams.
