Wages & prize money
Cycling teams do not always pay on time or correctly. Doping cases
Doping is one of the most frequent legal issues in cycling. Every positive result can lead to a suspension of several years, a fine and reputational damage. Our lawyers guide riders from the notification of the positive test through the entire doping procedure, with particular attention to timely evidence-gathering and possible sanction reduction based on the degree of fault or administrative error.

Cycling combines a short career, an employer abroad and a rulebook written abroad.
A contract with a team based elsewhere
Many riders sign with a team registered in another country, under a law that is not Belgian and with a forum that is not Belgian either. That single clause decides which protection you keep and where you must go when the team stops paying. We read it before you sign, we check whether a Belgian court still has jurisdiction, and we set out what a judgment obtained abroad is actually worth against a team that folds.
Wages and prize money
Prize money often passes through the team before it reaches the rider, and the split with staff and teammates is rarely written down. When payments stop, the paperwork you can produce decides the case. Keep the contract, the payment schedule and the correspondence, and put the team formally in default instead of waiting for the next race to settle it.
Crashes, third parties and insurance
A crash caused by a course that was not properly secured, by a vehicle in the convoy or by another rider raises a liability question that sits alongside your licence insurance. Those policies pay fixed amounts and cover far less than the real loss when a career ends. We look at what the policy covers, at what falls outside it, and at whether a claim against an organiser, a third party or an insurer is worth bringing.
